HiperPFS.....VAC input at 300VAC

Posted by: treez on

What happens with 300VAC input if using HiperPFS?

By the way, we only need to survive 300VAC....or any mains voltage above 265VAC....but what would happen if using HiperPFS in that case..

Could we simply shut it down? And wait for the mains to fall?

Hi Teez,

I hope your are discussing about Hiperpfs-3 family. It is designed for best performance for universal input voltage. The output regulation voltage of 385V is recommended based on 265VAC input. So the over voltage protection is set around 6.5% above nominal regulation voltage i.e 410V. At 300VAC, where peak voltage is around 424V , PFS will see as overvoltage fault and shutdown. As soon as Vfb pin goes below 400V, PFS will restarts. During the over voltage period bulk capacitor will be charged through bypass diode. When rectified peak voltage is equal to regulation voltage, inductor reset voltage is small. The on-time is vary small and current is high, so the PFC performance is poor.

Hi.....This designing report portrays a 39 V to 54 V, 150 W reference plan for a force supply for 100 VAC to 300 VAC LED streetlamps and other high force lighting applications. The force supply is planned with a steady current yield to straightforwardly drive a 150 W LED board at 46 V (ostensible, 39 V min, 54 V max).
