2SC0115T2A0-12

Posted by: Eslam Younis on

Hi,

I'm working on a project and I'm using 2SC0115T2A0-12 for driving an H-bridge ACDC Active front end. I'm following all the recommendations given in the application notes. The sinusoidal PWM of 1kHz that I'm using, when I check on the input to the gate driver is very clean and the output is very clean too and it's following the input. However, when I connect any voltage, as small as 40V, the output on the IGBT gate sometimes follows the input perfectly but, with some pulses, it turns off midway through the pulse sent to it, and sometimes it doesn't turn on at all even though the input on the gate driver pin is still clean. I also removed all the components related to the active clamping and VCE sensing, which I disabled by connecting a 1kOhm resistor between VCE and COM pins, to remove any possibility of fault issues but, it still does the same thing. I also monitored the SO pin and it shows random fault triggers at those incomplete pulses. Could you please tell me what could possibly be the problem?

Thank you!

Hi Eslam

applied constant 40V voltage on secondary side to simulate IGBT Vce voltage will trigger SC protection.
