Peak Power Delivery of InnoSwitch3-CE

Posted by: libaokang_81 on

Hi,

If there is an external current sense resistor on the IS pin, the InnoSwitch has options to set the overload response in two different ways.

The device is configured to have the FEEDBACK pin auto-restart enabled;

and the device is configured for overload response.

How to configure ?

What about the default value ?

Hello libaokang_81,

Good day and thank you for choosing Power Integrations.

The auto-restart threshold of the InnoSwitch3-CE device can be configured by choosing the correct Hcode (feature code). Please refer to the attached image for your reference. Choosing H107 and H110 will give you an overload response, and selecting either H101, H102, H103, H104, H105, or H109 will enable the FEEDBACK pin auto-restart response.

The default value can be calculated as Ris = Isv(th) / Iout(cc). Where Ris is the external current sense resistor value, Isv(th) is the current limit voltage threshold (typically 35.9 mV, as specified in the InnoSwitch3-CE datasheet), and Iout(cc) is your nominal output current. Please refer to the other attached image for more details.

Please don't forget to utilize both the InnoSwitch3-CE datasheet and the InnoSwitch3 family design guide (AN-72) when designing with our InnoSwitch3-CE IC. Let me know if you need anything else or have any more questions or concerns.

Once again, thank you for choosing Power Integrations devices. Happy holidays!

Regards,

Tommy
