110degC Max FET temperature

Hi,
Page 18 of the TOP264 datasheet says the TOPswitch should be heatsunk enough to keep its junction below 110degC.
Would you agree, this is because otherwise, if power cycled once per day, then the expansion and contraction of going to/from 110degC would prematurely break the internal FET bonding wires?

Hi,
Thank you for showing interest in Power Integrations and its products.
Assuming an ambient temperature of 25C, the increase in junction temperature must be <110C in order to operate.
The minimum thermal shutdown temperature specified in the datasheet is 135C.
Enough heatsinking is required to make sure that the device operates within its specifications.
If the ambient temperature is greater than 25C, designers must adjust the heatsinking such that the part will not reach thermal shutdown during normal operation.
