SPICE or other simulation model for EMI simulation

Posted by: nmnguyen on

Hello, I'm working on a project to validate EMI requirement early on in the design process, which mean we need to accurately model the dynamic behaviors of all component. I have a flyback converter designed around the LNK3294 and there's not enough parameters in the datasheet to simulate this chip (especially the integrated MOSFET) is there a SPICE and/or simulation model of this family? If not, is there more extensive EMI testing/modeling data available? Thank you

Hi nmnguyen,
As of this moment, we do not have SPICE and/or simulation model for this family and flyback design example with the 900V LNK-TN2 variant. For flyback designs however, EMI response is heavily dependent on transformer construction, snubber design, and layout of critical loops. Regardless, pi filter input configuration (e-cap + choke + e-cap) plus the internal frequency jittering of LNK-TN2 is verified enough suppression for the conducted EMI at this power level. Recommended minimum total input capacitance and other design parameters can be determined via the PIExpert online design tool. Hope this helps.
