INN367C Shut down for remote enable

Posted by: info@agil-elek… on

Hallo,

I have designed a 30W Power supply with different autputs. Design is working well, but now i want to realize a remote enable from secondary side. I thought about doing this by pulling down the BPP pin to ground via an colector of an optocoupler, which is sourced from secondary side.
Could this work properly, or is there any other method to do so.

Thank you for answers.

Best regards

Hello,
This will work if the optocoupler diode supply current comes from external DC source and not from the output of the power supply. Or else the PSU might turn on and off if you connect the diode in the output of the PSU. May I know what is the purpose of implementing the remote enable/Disable? Do plant to do it with a mechanical switch from the secondary or a digital controlled switch?

Hallo,

thank you for your answer.
we want to switch of all Output voltages without switching off line Input. So we wanted to do this from secondary side.
so only a switch without any Energy source to switch off the converter will not work in my opinion.
sure the Energy source on secondary must be independent of the switched off Converter.
The other way we could switch secondary outputs , but we have 5 outputs with three of them isolated from each other.

So this would be more difficult to realize.

the purpose is, that we have the power Input on Tear side of the unit and a power on switch exactly in the opposite Corner of Power supply.
So we must go with Line input through the whole unit and we get an EMV problem.
So we decided to do switch on and off from secondary side.

Best regards

Hi,
You can try the attached circuit. Instead of pulling the BPP to ground, We will going to force trigger the OVP threshold of the V pin . This method has lower standby power than pulling the BPP pin voltage. So the switch is on the secondary side but need separate voltage source. Turning on the switch will turn on the primary switch. Turning off the switch will turn on the BJT and inject around 150uA to the V pin and turn off the primary switching.
