Topswitch 60v/3amps design
I am designing 60v/3amps with the reference of der580 document . i have some doubts in der580 mentioned.
1) min input voltage is 180vac
but i want to start at min voltage 85-265vac
2) max output current is 2amps
but i need 3amps output current.
3)In der580 they were used TOPSwitchTM-JX TOP267EG. Can i use Topswitch -HX Top262EN
and pls explain me cv/cc circuit operation in der580 document .I am not understand working pls explain .Please replay me as soon as possible

am implementing 60v/2amps flyback charger with the reference of der580. Input voltage (AC) voltage is 53v. output voltage going to 130v . if i increase input voltage 80v output is going 220v .Here topswitch i selected TOP271EG. transformer is designed as per the der580 specifications .pls tell me what is the problem . i want to submit the prototype .pls give me replay as soon as possibleI
Hi Pavan,
As per your description of the problem, it seems your power supply is working in forward converter mode and not in flyback converter. Please check your layout especially where the secondary wire is connected.
Can you send the PCB layout and schematic you used?

Hai Thanks for your replay. I am facing so many problems while designingi this circuit.
1) i implemented this circuit on pcb layout i got stable output 60v .but the problem is getting more ringing. and when i put load more than 1amps clamp resistor geting heat .i tuned the RCD value is R3 670 ohms ringing gone but resistor is very hot and capacitor value c3 is 4.2nf R4 IS 33ohms . drain voltage peak is going high
Transformer details :
primary inductance is 139uh
leakage inductance is 7uh
please find the attachments and tell em need to changes in circuit . is that waveform is correct or not how to solve this issue its urgent to me ti need to submit the prototype.

Your schematic has a few issues - especially location of output grounds and 0v connections - if your pcb is made directly from the schematic you will have problems
I connected the output ground .and tell me what changes have to do in the schematic .i didn't understand the 0v connections .
For example there is no 0v connection on pin 8 of your Tx ...
The LM431 is wired wrong on the schematic - and cannot run off 60V any way - the schematic appears to be full of such fatal flaws....
Hai thanks for your replay. Actually i want to design battery charger 60v/3amps in flyback topology that is cv/cc configuration . first i made 60v/3amps circuit from PI it works i got stable output 60v .but i need cv/cc configuration for battery charging .lm358 cv/cc circuit i copied from der580 application note and i connected to my main (PI) circuit. Now the circuit is working but so much ringing problem and going high peak in drain waveform .you can see in my previous waveform .pls tell me if i want to modify the circuit .i attached the der580 schematic and PI schematic

Hi Pavan,
Please increase the V/div in your oscilloscope for us to see if your Drain to Source waveform is within the maximum rating of the IC, which is 700V. If we would refer to DER580, you can decrease the spike on Drain by increasing the value of C3 or decreasing the value of R4. Another way is to decrease the VOR (secondary voltage reflected to the primary when the primary MOSFET turns off). This will decrease the primary to secondary turns ratio (Np/Ns).

Hi Pavan,
DER-580 is optimized for input high line usage. If you want universal input of 85Vac-265Vac, you need to change the design.
You can download the PI Expert design tool to configure design needed (link: https://ac-dc.power.com/design-support/pi-expert/pi-expert-suite/pi-expert-download/ )
Attached here is the sample design I've created fro 60V/3A output using Topswitch-HX.
