Constant Output Power with InnoSwitch-CP
Dear Sir
Is it possible to have constant output power with InnoSwitch-CP as show in AS58 page 29 bottom, instead of auto-restart?

Hi Jedidiah
Ups, I meant AN58 page 29:
Constant Output Power Option
To be able to droop the output voltage in case of the overload
at power supply output (instead of auto-restart for OCP

protection), the following circuit can be used.
Hi Amigahan,
Yes, Innoswitch-CP VI curve shows the output voltage will droop in case of overload. OCP will be the maximum point wherein the output voltage will stop to droop and the controller will enter auto-restart. That is the safety feature set by the IS pin resistor. You may adjust the IS pin resistor if you want higher OCP level, which means more output voltage drop to occur before the circuit enter AR.

Hi Pi-Jedidiah
Do the same to apply to the InnoSwitch-EP Family?

Amigafan
Hi Amigan,
InnoSwitch-EP family has tight CVCC curve. At a certain CC point, CV will drop linearly while maintaining constant output current.

Hi Amigafan,
Good afternoon.... What do you mean by AS58 page 29? Can you share the document you are reffering to? With regards to constant power, yes InnoSwitch-CP will work with constant power. But the maximum current of the design is determined by the CC set by the IS pin resistor.
