Aux Supply SMPS, startup voltage

Posted by: chw on

Hy there
I'm searching for a switcher or a solution for auxilary power supply in a smps. I would prefer a solution without a transformer.
It's absolute maximum rating input voltage should be 500V or higher.
The voltage when it begins to work (like VHmin) should be from 83V up. Or it would be nice if the switcher got a ON/OFF functionality.
Do you have something like that in your product range that would fit?Actually we are using a LinkSwitch-TN where the min drain supply voltage is 50V.
Thanks for your help!
Kind regards
chris

Hi Chris,
Usually our solution package only have 700V FET. To have 500V it needs a cascaded FET in a flyback topology to cater higher voltage input. DER-58 set the example of the cascaded FET solution you may want to check.

Hi PI-DATA
thanks for your quick response. maybe my question was imprecisely.the voltage input ist 85Vac to 264Vac. the max. drain voltage should be 700V. it should be nonisolated configuration like in the datasheet of LNK302 shown.
im looking for a controller which minimum drain pin supply voltage is from 80V or 100V up. Ideal would be minimum drain pin supply voltage 120V. Or it has got a adjustable undervoltage lockout or an enable Pin. Maybe there is a app.-note for the LNK302 for such a application available?
kind regards chris

Hi Chirs,
Attached is the design guide for LinkSwitch-TN but I recommend newest one wich is LinkSwitch-TN2. LNK3202 for TN2 and LNK302 for TN are almost the same except for some improvements like tighter regulation. Either one you can use AN-37 for TN and AN-70 for TN2.
