Knowledge and support required
Hi,
I want to get 3.3v and 5v directly from 230v with less number of components and minimum size.
I have attached image files for the same. can you please share me your feedback on it , any improvements , reduction/removal of part, addition/change in part etc ?? Also I want to make PCB with less height and less spaced parts , but as you can see in image L1, L2 and C25, C26 are through hole parts and with almost 13mm height. Is there any replacement for this?? Also one issue is that as inductor are through hole and have small lead length so i cant bend them so any replacement for them also beneficial to me. Till now circuit works ok but now the space and height are major concerns so please help me out.I can bend capacitors but not inductors. can I use small parts , please suggest

Hi all,
What is the output power of the design in above-attached schematics?
Hi,
1.2W is max output power as max output current is 360mA.
thanks
Hi Irfan,
Have you find solution to your problem? Did you check my suggestions if it work? Thank you.
regards,
Alexis
Hi Alexis,
Firstly thanks for your suggestion and feedback. I am still working of it .
I cant go with Ceramic cap as it is High temperature circuit . I have taken your suggestion for L1 and for L2 as I don't want to go with such low current Part so I have taken Part of coilcraft MSS1246T-105KLC, Hope it will work.
Tell me for this part if you have anything other things i will update when all testings have been done.
Regards,
Irfan
Hi Irfan,
Hopefully it work good so you can proceed. Thank you.

Hi Irfan,
Thank you for using Power Integrations' part.
Regarding your question, it's quite a challenge when it comes to size with high voltage application. For e-caps, I think we can't find smaller part than that with 450V rating. If you can bend the capacitor so that its hight will be its diameter is ok, it just depends on your manufacturing process if they will allow that. For L1 you can check below link from digikey. Then for L2 you can check the link if it is possible for you. You just check if the current rating is acceptable and you have to evaluate if it will pass all your test. Another option for capactors is using ceramic cap but capacitance tends to decrease alot at higher temperature so you have watch out that. Hopefully it helps.
