CC CV Charger issue with deep discharged battery
Hello all,
I am working on 80V / 0.5A CC/CV charger. Its working fine if battery is less discharge say around 75V. But if I discharge it more, say upto 65V its not charging. I tested all with home made resistive loads. While testing I just use that load to test CC mode. Inceasing load current after 0.5A, voltage start reducing and when I reach around 65V, its start blinking. I think it cant maintain regulation and go to auto restart cycle.
What shound i do to recharge deep-discharged batteries??

I am using TOP266EG. I can't share schematic in forum but I can E-mail you.
I am using 6 Pcs 12V battery in series considering 13.3V charging voltage to make 80V total charging voltage.
Hello lalani2009,
Please take DER566 for reference for the CC/CV circuit design. Below is the link. if you plot the CCCV curve as what shows in DER566 page 38, what is the similar result in your circuit. if you can share this, it will also be very helpful.

When you use the resistor to check your CCCV performance, how much is your resistance when you reach 65V?
Best Regards

Hello lalani2009,
Thank you for interested in Power Integrations product.
Before we dig in, can i ask which IC you are using? can you share the schematic if possible?
When you mentioned it is a 80V battery, what kind of battery are you using?
Best Regards
