non isolated version of DI 152
I am trying to make a really low cost power supply for universal main (90-265VAC/50/60Hz) and search your
applications database. It showed a design DI 152 which was ok except that it had a very complex transformer.
I don't need isolation, as this will be powering an IOT sensor that will have no reference to ground, so I
thought something might be possible with a tapped winding. Is there something that would use an off the shelf
inductor? I thought a buck design might be an idea but all your simple supply chips are flyback. Is there a way
to wire them as a non-isolated buck?

Hello.
But when I clicked on new, on PI expert software, I cannot change the topology. always is "flyback"
no matter what product line and famly I choose. I attached a picture.
But using PIXls Designer, I was able to create a buck design using lnk306.
I sent you an email about the products my company want to do,
And you recommend me the innoswitch device, but like etmax, I dont need isolated power supply.
In the software, the only configuration for innnoswithc is the flyback. Can I use it in a buck topology?
Thanks.

Could you please let us know to whom you sent the email? What are your input and Output specifications? Normally InnoSwitch family is highly recommended for Flybakc? As in your case you don't need an Isolation , generally based on your spec's we recommend the device and the topology?

Thanks for Posting your question into foru,. Not really all our IC's are only flyback , Our IC's can be used for Flyback , Buck , Boost , Forward , PFC and LLC topologies. Download our PI Expert Software tool , Enter your specificiations, it will provide you the optimised design solution as the topology that you like.
