LNK306 or TNY

Posted by: titi47 on

Hello.

I have some tny264 in stock and I will order some lnk306 to test. I am working on a project for home automation.I would like to use Buck converter topology. Maybe my question is dumb but if I compare LNK and TNY functional diagram in datasheet. It seems more or less similar. So is it possible to use TNY in buck topo without transformerless like the LNK does. If not, could you explain why briefly please? I am quite new to this stuff.

Regards,

Thanks for Posting your Question into forum. The difference between LinkSwitch and TNy Switch is line UV and OV protection feature which is available in TNY Switch .

Yes you can use TNy Switch in Buck Configuration, however LinkSwitch Supports Buck, Buck-Boost and flyback topologies . We never implemented Buck using TNY Switch but we have Design Example Reports for LinkSwitch and Our PI Expert Software provides optimised solution for LinkSwitch for the Specifications.

Iam Arkesh Paramtap R&D Engineer in EDS company Delhi.

Iam  designing an LNK306 12V/120 mA.

Problem is voltage drop when I load 12V.Output will come only 8V 120mA only.

.

I request you to if you have reference design please share with me, and give me technical support for designing.
