Input voltage of 60vDC to 400vDC

Posted by: salamisz on

Dear Sir/Madam;

I am going to design a new power supply and as I am a fan of your TinySwitch, I choose TinySwitchIII type for my design.

The input voltage is 60vDC to 400vDC and using your PIExpert software, I receive lots of warnings and errors.

I have seen some products with larger operating range -55vDC to 675vDC-.

1.       I would like to know how we can use TinySwitch for small inputs such as 60vDC properly.

2.       Please also let me know whether it is possible to add power mosfets to it to extend the input range to 675vDC, I have did it before but for input range of 150vDC to 675vDC.

Regards

Hello,

For the very low voltage input, you may not be able to use the PI-expert. You could do you own calculation to design the power supply.

Concerning the second question, what was the solution for your previous design with input voltage range from 150Vdc to 675Vdc?

Thank you for your support.

About the second question, I use a series power Mosfet with a driving Zener Diode and protecting TVS as you have mentioned in some of your documents.
