Custom transformer specification

Posted by: pablomkz on

I just definied a custom transformer, but when I tried to use it in PIExpert appears with parameter Pmax (W) = 0.0, and I don´t find where introduce this parameter.

Can you help me, please? Thank you for your time.

1. Open PIExpert and close all designs that might be open.

2. Go to component sets and ensure that your custom transformer has a 'green' check right next to it under the 'Use' column. This will ensure that the transformer will be used for all designs.

3. If this does not help, try creating the custom transformer again by first clicking on an existing core that is closer to your custom core and then clicking on the 'Add' button.

Let me know if this helps.

Effectively, when I create the custom transformer by first clicking on an existing core closer to my custom core, it´s appears with a Pmax(W) different from 0.

Now, another question: How is Pmax(W) calculated and how can I verify this parameter?

I think that is really importantto verify this parameter.

Thank you again...!!!!

The calculation for Pmax for a certain core type is slightly involved. I would recommend that you create a custom transformer and then see the power capacity of the transformer in the core selection window as calculated by PIExpert. If you do not see the Pmax for your custom core, then you might have a different issue.
