CAPZero CAP019DG to discharge amplifier caps?
This has probably been asked and answered; I couldn't find any references so I'll ask: Can the CAP019DG be used to discharge the power supply caps in a tube amplifier? These caps are much higher in capacitance than the the listed 5µF listed, typically on the order of 22µ-50µF range. They don't have to discharge in the 1 second as needed with X caps, if it was longer than that it would be okay. Voltages across the amp caps can be anywhere from 100-~700VDC. If these could be used it would be a great way to keep the "bleeder" resistor dissipation down and offer a faster "automatic" discharge of these caps found in every guitar amp.
Thanks.

Hi Pi-Nano,
the amp has DC, the CAPZERO needs AC, didn't it?
(more than 31 ms no change => always on)
Best regards...
Hi,
Since CAPZero relies on detecting the AC voltage at the input, under DC input the CAPZero will remain on all the time. This operation will remove any energy savings from the use of CAPZero.

Hi,
You can use CAP019DG, if discharge time is not a concern for you. Use 300K resistance in series with CAP019DG.
Discharge time will depend upon your X capacitance value.
