BOM for DER schematic

Posted by: Dave Miga on

re: LYT4317E/L schematic on page 6, I can source all but the most important part, the power transformer simply listed as RM8, and besides the part number being obviously too small, all Google searches also fail to find it. There was no BOM in the article. Please elaborate.

Hi,

Which DER number are you referring to? If you are looking for RM8 spec, you may check Ferroxcube website and search for RM8/I-3F3 core.  You can use different core material if you prefer.

I have attached the spec as reference.

This is simply a core which would be fine if I were a transformer manufacturer. Again, I need the part number of the TRANSFORMER used in this circuit. Or at least the specs on the windings if I have to have these made by a transformer company.

Again, what's the DER number are you referring to?

The transformer used in most of the DER, especially the one using an RM8 is not off-the-shelf. All DER should have the spec of the transformer construction. If it's not in the  report, please let me know the DER number. Thanks.

See page 6 of LYT4211-4218/4311-4318 LYTSwitch-4 High Power LED Driver IC Family. There ius a schematic of your product with all values except transformer. We intend to use this recommended schematic as a basis to start our version.

The schematic on p.6 of the datasheet refers to DER-350. You can get all information in this report including the schematic, BOM, transformer construction and performance data. Please download the report in Power Integrations website

Below is the link to all available DERs. Please look for DER-350. I tried to attach the report here but the file size is too big. Please let me know if you are able to obtain the report and thank you for using PI products.
