3W LED Driver design.

Posted by: kmohan.np on

Hi,

I designed 3.14W led driver circuit with input range of 85-300 VAC by using LNK605DG with Transformer EE13. Design result and iteration design result has been attached to this mail. Please guide me to select the best.

Reference designs: DER-185, DER-206 and DER-351.

with regards..

hi,

I saw the design results and I would normally suggest that you select the one that provides the best efficiency. May I know what exactly is your concern given that you already have iteration data?

your paper design looks ok

Hi,

Thank you very much for your feedback...

If we still reduce BM_target, BP- peak flux density will still reduce and improve transformer by not making any aduible noise. And will it reduce EMI and EMC noise.

One more important is make our product to get approved in CE test, What are the steps should be taken from desing itself  till  develop any SMPS product. Please give reference notes than AN-14.

mohan

Yes you can further reduce BM of your transformer to minimize audible noise.  Also you can submerge the transformer in varnish to eliminate audible noise.

To pass CE test, the first step is to have a properly designed PCB layout. You can see the DER boards you mention in your attached word document as a reference for the placement for the placement of the components.

A good PCB layout will give you good chances you pass CE.

Just by curiosity.  Why don’t you use a newer family of devices specially designed for lighting? Like the LNK PL or PH?

Hi,

Happy to read your sugggestion and guidelines. Yes our next 15W and 18W led driver is designed using LINK-PH family..

Sorry for the late reply...
