PI expert suite error 106
Hello, I downloaded PI Expert 8.5.5.3 on windows 7 home premium x64,
my system is in italian.
I open PI expert, select new design, LinkSwitch CV PG Open Frame,
Input Single voltage 230V,I try to add new secondary output,
write voltage 5V and the system complains that the value is too
high. It seem to multiply the entered value by 100.
The error is error 106,
input parameter VO1 is equal to 500.00 etc...
Thank you,
Fabio Eboli.

Thank you for this.
Did you succed in replicating the problem?
I'm thinking about the fact that the
italian default decimal divider is comma : ","
not the dot: "."
Some programs like windows calculator dont' mind,
others like libreoffice require to use
the system default one.
Fabio.
We have not yet reproduced the problem... we'll keep trying though. In the meantime can you please unistall PIExpert, download the setup file from our website again and try a fresh install?
We have not yet reproduced the problem... we'll keep trying though. In the meantime can you please try something?. Close the software, reboot the computer. It is possible that windows may have not correctly loaded all the regional settings.
Downloaded and installed first normal and later x64 version.
Same error for both.
Strangely, if I make this sequence:
- open product selector guide
- hit next
- hit next (it remains on defaul universal 85-265Vac input)
- select led driver;hit next
- add 5V 1A out; hit finish,PIExpert opens PIXIs designer window
- I close the PIXIs designer new window without saving
- return to PIExpert window
after this the program functions properly.
Fabio.
Tried simply opening PIXIs tigether with PIExpert but
no improvement.
I rebooted the system multiple times,
before and after reinstalling the PIExpert suite.
Tried modifying the system decimal separator to
the english "." and PIExpert funcions properly.
When the decimal separator is my system default ","
PIExpert is unable to interpret the numbers in the
window I mentioned in the initial post.
Perhaps this can have something to do with some
windows 7 bug?
here some examples of win7 problems with decimal separator:

Fabio.
Sorry for all the posts, I sould have checked better before.
It's maybe a glich in win7, like described in the previous
post first link.
Changed the decimal separator to english and after back to
italian default, rebooted and PIExpert now shows correct behaviour.
Thank you.
No problem. Thanks for the information. I'll pass it on.

We'll look into this and get back to you in a couple of days.
