EN 55014-2:1997 Standard Surges Tests
Hi Sir/Madam,
We designed a power supply via LNK302PN (85-265VAC to 24VDC, nearly 30mA output) to our product. Our customer testing our product now. But our customer says when they were testing our product at surges test. When they apply the 1kV 90° to line. Our product stop all functions. And their circuit breaker turn off the main supply. They try to apply the main supply but the circuit breaker does not give permission to applying the main supply. After that they unplug the our product then they can apply the main supply easily. And our product starts to work good.
What is the problem? I think LNK302PN has not auto re-start specification so it could be clamping the circuit.
May be we must use LNK304PN or LNK562PN?
What could you advise us?
Best Regards.

Yes, we are using bidirectional 1.5KE400CA transient voltage suppressor after the fuse. It's breaking voltage is 440V and clamping voltage is 548VAC at 10/1000us.
Should we use this TVS diode after the 100R/2W input resistor or should we remove it?
Hi, Can you try removing the TVS and re-test starting from 0.5kV DM and go upto 1.0KV and check if you get the same behaviour.
Regards
Hi, we remove the TVS and test is ok now. But now we have a conducted emission and radiated immunity problems. How could we change the input filter values for conducted emission test?
Hi,
If you send me your EMI scan it would be beneficial to answer the question more logically. I would try adding a inductance (50uH-100uH) in series with the line to see if you have any improvment. Make sure the current rating of the inductor is higher than operating current.

What is the voltage rating of the circuit protection device? Are you using MOV ot GTB after the input fuse for circuit protection?
