AN-44 question regarding RF1

Posted by: jrdelrey on

I have a design based in AN-44 with a LNK616 device. In order to pass a certification, I was asked in what situation will RF1 blow or after how much time, if the load goes near to a short circuit. I'm unsure if LNK616 internal protections will prevent this situation.

Thanks,

Rafael.

Hi, Sir,

Sorry for that I am not the expert to answer your question. Would you PLS contact with the Vndor for RF1, definetly they have the answer for your questions.

Really sorry about that.

Regards

Does vendor of RF1 will tell me what will happen with my flyback power supply?, I need a generic-component answer. Will RF1 current path increase exponentially if I short circuit the power supply output?, will LNK616 device shut down output?

Thanks,

I am pretty much sure the short circuit will not cause rf1 blew up. The input power is very low because of the internal short circuit protection. But PLS run a short circuit test, I beleieve it is not difficult for you to find a power supply.
