Testing of a top switch

You can see Figure 33 on the data sheet of TOP JX for the set up to test This TOPSwitch family.

Sir,

i measured the voltage at the control pin found 5.6VDC and the voltaged across the Switch is 325VDc.also for testing purpose grounded the X and L pin.No output at the secondary availble.can i suspect the top switch??

Can u tell me how to test a top switch from top-HX family.
can we test the TOP switch alone without any circuitry?
