DER 136
Hi,
I got 75W PSU design called DER136 Using TOP250YN device in Power integrations company website. Actual design is giving output of 24V, 3.125A. But as per our requirement we changed some of the components on the board to get 58V, 1.35A using same device, even after newly designing the Tx for 58V still the board doesn't works some kich kich sound will come and the output is keep on increasing for example 30VAC o/p= 50Vdc and for 55-65VAC o/p=85Vdc so i am really trying hard to solve the issue but still not rectified. Please help me out in this Issue, all the changes on board and Tx is made as per the PI software Indication.

Hi Wesley,
Thanks for your reply. Now i will attach both schematic and whole design. But we are not using TL431, instead we are using zener regulator.
The design is same as per the schematic but for 58V DC output we have change the Transformer design, Output zener value, current sense resistor value, Transistors value(BC547 & BC557).
These are the changes made to obtain 58V @ 1.35A DC output. But i am not successfull in this, so please help me to resolve this issue.
Could you please supply the actual schematic of the power supply?
Also what is your input voltage? In the spreadsheet you entered 100 VAC but then entered 99999 uF input capacitor. Do you want a 100 VDC input? If so you can use the VMIN parameter to override the VACMAX and VACMIN parameters.
No, I dont want 100VDC input. MY idea is the Vmin of AC is 100Vac and Vmax is 270Vac, Nothing else and the schematic is same what we get in PI reference design. I have changed only the output zener value ,capacitors value as per the requirement, transistors and Transformer design.

Hi,
Could you please provide the schematic and transformer design you are using? Also it could be a problem with the TL431 at such a high output voltage breaking down. You can try to place a zener diode in series with the TL431 to make sure that the TL431's anode to cathode voltage is less than 36 V as specified by the datasheet.
