DC motor power supply

Posted by: LooperRu on

Hello!

I need to make smth like 150-200W nominal and 500W peak power supply with DC input (77-144V) and 24V output for DC motor. I tried to use PI Expert online, it recommended me to use HiperLCS, but xls showed warnings about low input voltage. So, what should I do? May you give me any recommendations?

200W at 77V input will exceed the max thermal rating of the largest HiperLCS part.

LooperRU, although you might not be able to use HiperLCS over the complete range that you desire but you can use it at a lower range. HiperLCS can definitely not work at 77V due to the fact that the current rating will be exceeded resulting in overheating. Therefore, you just need to check the current rating and then define your voltage range accordingly, if that is at all possible for you.
